So what is SunBlock and SPF?
A sun screen, and preferably a SUN BLOCK lotion is a must. This protects the outer layers of your skin against immediate sun burn. A sun protection factor (SPF) of at least 30 is advisable. What this actually means is that you skin can withstand the suns rays 30 times longer than without sun block. So if it usually takes you 10 minutes in the harsh sun to burn (without sun block), then with sun block with a SPF factor of 30, it will take you 10 minutes x 30 = 300 minutes or 5 hours to burn the same amount.
